Shmelev, V.R., Perevozchikov, B.V., Moloshag, V.P. The Rai-Iz ophiolite massif in the Polar Urals: geology and chromite deposits. Field trip guidebook. 12th International Platinum Symposium. Yekaterinburg: IGG UB RAS, 2014. 44 р.

The guidebook is dedicated to one of the unique objects of the Urals – Rai-Iz peridotite massif. The characteristics of geology, tectonics, mineralogy and geochemistry of ultramafic rocks and associated chromite deposits are briefly outlined. The features of the structure and composition of the post ophiolitic gabbro-diorite-tonalite association are presented. A series of geological intersections for the different rock complexes provides a fairly complete overview of the Rai-Iz massif. The materials are of  interest for geologists that are dealing with the problems of the mantle origin and associated rock complexes.
