The atlas contains illustrations of calcareous foraminifers and microstructures of carbonate rocks from the type and reference sections of the Upper Devonian (Famennian) and Lower Carboniferous (Tournaisian) of the East European Platform, the Urals, Western Siberia, and the Omolon Massif. For the first time, a unified foraminiferal scale for the Famennian Stage of the Upper Devonian was proposed and the zonal scale for foraminifera of the Tournaisian Stage of the Lower Carboniferous of Russia was modernized. It is based on materials from the authors' own collections, as well as collections of holotypes stored in leading geological organizations - GIN RAS, IGG URO RAS, IG UFITs RAS, PIN RAS, IG Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, VNIGNI, PSNIU.
