The book presents the results of research, analysis and synthesis of data on geology, mineralogy, petroand geochemistry, isotope geochemistry and geochronology of carbonatite complexes of the Urals and Timan fold belts. The compositions of rocks, ores and minerals, including ore mineralization, were studied, the features of petro- and geochemical evolution were considered, and the PT conditions of formation of rocks and ores were assessed. The isotopic compositions (Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, U-Pb, Lu-Hf) of rocks and minerals were determined, and isotopic dating of rocks (including ore-bearing varieties) and ore minerals was carried out. Factors have been established that determine the different ore specialization of carbonatite complexes (Nb – for the Ilmen-Vishnegorsky, Nb-REE – for the Buldym complexes of S. Urals, REE – for the Chetlassky complex of M. Timan), which can be used to predict deposits of strategic metals in folded areas. A new rift-collision model for the formation of carbonatite complexes of the Urals and associated rare metal Nb-Zr-REE deposits has been proposed.
